New York Metropolitan Area

Het gecombineerde statistische gebied New York-Newark-Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA is de nieuwe officiële federale overheidsnaam en -definitie voor het grotere stedelijke gebied van New York City. Het is enorm en omvat dertig provincies in de regio New York City, bestaande uit de volgende grootstedelijke en micro-stedelijke gebieden:

• Kingston, NY Grootstedelijk statistisch gebied
• New Haven-Milford, CT Grootstedelijk statistisch gebied
• New York-Noord New Jersey-Long Island, NY-NJ-PA Grootstedelijk statistisch gebied
• Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, NY Grootstedelijk statistisch gebied
• Torrington, CT Micropolitan statistisch gebied
• Trenton-Ewing, NJ Metropolitaans statistisch gebied

Het Kingston, NY grootstedelijk statistisch gebied bestaat uit Ulster County.

Het New Haven-Milford, CT grootstedelijk statistisch gebied bestaat uit New Haven County.

Het grootstedelijk statistisch gebied New York-Noord New Jersey-Long Island, NY-NJ-PA bestaat uit de belangrijkste steden van New York, NY; Newark, NJ; Edison, NJ; White Plains, NY; Union, NJ; en Wayne, NJ.

Officieel is het New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, NY-NJ-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area onderverdeeld in:

• Edison, NJ Metropolitan Division (Middlesex County, Monmouth County, Ocean County en Somerset County)
• Nassau-Suffolk, NY Metropolitan Division (Nassau County en Suffolk County)
• Newark-Union, NJ-PA Metropolitan Division (Essex County, NJ; Hunterdon County, NJ; Morris County, NJ; Sussex County, NJ; Union County, NJ; en Pike County, PA)
• New York-White Plains-Wayne, NY-NJ Metropolitan Division (Bergen County, NJ; Hudson County, NJ; Passaic County, NJ; Bronx County, NY; Kings County, NY; New York County, NY; Putnam County, NY; Queens County, NY; Richmond County, NY; Rockland County, NY; en Westchester County, NY)
